There are several camellia trees in the yards of Three-Official Temple, and most of them are over 400 years old. This camellia japonica var. alba plena Lodd that is located to the west of the Three-Official Temple is over 410 years old. It is a unique species, a double petal white snow tower, that is only found here on Mount Laoshan. It is cultivated by grafting with the common camellia. When it blooms, its white flowers contrast with the red flowers produced by the camellia japonica in the same yard, creating one of the most beautiful sights of Taiqing Palace.
