Qingdao Museum

Established in 1965, Qingdao Museum is a comprehensive museum with historical and artistic collections. It is one of the first group of National First Grade Museums and a National Key Organization for Ancient Books Protection. Its collections include more than 240,000 pieces of culture relics of 30 categories, featuring works of calligraphy and painting, ceramics, jade ware, and coins, among which there are a good number of rare and precious treasures. In its 13 exhibition halls with a total floor area of 7,000 m2，besides the large-scale exhibition History of Qingdao is on display all year round, there are six themed displays of ancient money and coins, porcelain of Ming and Qing Dynasties, woodcut new year paintings, ancient arts and crafts, calligraphic works and paintings of Gao Fenghan, and collections donated by the Li Rukuan Family. All these exhibitions show the local history and civilization of Qingdao and the best of the museum’s collection. Temporary exhibitions of various styles and features are also introduced every now and then. Visitors can also have hands-on experience of traditional culture and craftsmanship at the interactive area. Services such as material viewing, inquiry and audio guide in Chinese, Japanese and Korean are available. There is also lecture hall，VIP room，visitors rest area and souvenir shop in the museum. As a carrier of the Chinese culture treasure and the city’s memories, Qingdao Museum has become an important cultural landmark of the city.
