Xiejiahe Community is situated 4.5 km away from Wanggezhuang Subdistrict Office of Laoshan District, Qingdao. Sitting in the west bank of the upstream of Shiren River, it faces Tianma Mountain in the east and Zhuizigu in the south, stretches to Pishikou in the west and neighbors Huangniya Community in the north.
Xiejiahe Village is a beautiful village and an ideal destination for leisure and touring. It has eight thriving bamboo parks with clear springs and diverse rockeries. There is a fairy tale about this village and the tourist site Pishikou (meaning rock riving place). Once upon a time there were two lovers called Huazi and Lianzi. The mountain master forced Lianzi to marry him, so the lovers decided to run away. Mountain master would not let them go and started to hunt them down. A goddess pitied them and hide them in a giant rock. Mountain master rived the rock with a ghost axe but was killed when doing so. The lovers came out from the rock unharmed and finally became a couple, whose sons became the ancestors of people in Xiejiahe Village.
Taking advantages of the cherry and apricot festivals, Xiejiahe Community developed two ecological sightseeing routes of Changshenggu and Heilongjian. Together with Yuezhu ecological farm produce market and Yuezhu villa restaurant, a golden brand of rural dining, the village enjoys booming rural tourism. It has won various titles including “Featured Rural Tourist Destination of Laoshan District (woods) ”, “Featured Rural Tourist Destination of Qingdao (rural restaurant)”, “Featured Village of Tourism of Qingdao”, “Featured Village of Tourism of Shandong Province” and “Model Community of Rural Tourism”.
