Guzao Traditional Cultural Center

Laoshan Cultural Street is located at the core of Fushan New Business District of Qingdao, south of Liaoyang East Road, west of 7th Jinsong Road, and north of Tong’an Road in Laoshan District. The project has a total investment of RMB 130 million, covering a gross floor area of over 9,800 m2, and is designed with 98 stores. It was put into operation in July 2014, consisting of such traditional Chinese artworks as rosewood, dark-red enamel, ceramics, tea, incense lore, calligraphy and paintings, gold, gem and jade, Buddhist ritual instruments, and stone appreciation. There is also a cultural experience club in the center where citizens can taste wine and tea, practice calligraphy, and play the guqin. There is a 400 m2 “sunshine multi-functional art hall” regularly holding various public and commercial activities. The center has been holding a monthly public cultural artwork exchange activity since July 2014, i.e. “Guzao Evening Auction”, which is an auction of cultural artworks without any minimum price that lets more ordinary people join the auction to experience the thrill and learn the knowledge of traditional culture and art. So far, “Guzao Evening Auction” has been held for nearly 70 sessions, with over 10,000 participants in total.
