Qingdao Haiyu Laoshan Green Jade Museum

Qingdao Laoshan Green Jade Museum, founded in 1985, was first built at Binhe Road, Licang District, which was one of the earliest private museums after the establishment of the PRC, and then it was moved to Laoshan Road, and in 2016, this new museum located in Laoshan Tourist Service Center opened. The indoor exhibition hall of the museum covers an area of 900 m2, and a sunken plaza with an area of 1,000 m2 is set outside the museum. Laoshan Green Stone is a kind of precious ornamental stone dominated by green stone, which is unique in Laoshan District. This kind of stone is mostly contained on the bottom of the sea, so it is also known as seabed jade which is mainly from Yangkou Bay in Laoshan; now, it has become an important symbol of Laoshan culture. The exhibition of Laoshan Green Stone not only enriches tourists’ knowledge of Laoshan Green Stone, but also promotes the unique and distinctive culture of Laoshan.
