
Located at No. 27, Meiling Road, Laoshan District, Qingdao, the museum is a national first-class museum and a national key protection unit of ancient books. Its collection of cultural relics includes more than 100,000 pieces of more than 30 categories, including calligraphy, painting, ceramics, bronze, jade, coins, seals, oracle bones, bamboo, wood and tooth carving pieces, among which calligraphy, ceramics, jade and coins are the featured collection of the museum. The museum also has more than 40,000 cultural relics from various stages of Qingdao's historical development, reflecting the city's development since its establishment, and being an important place for a comprehensive understanding of Qingdao's history. With the eastward shift of the political and economic center of Qingdao, in 1996, CPC Qingdao Committee and Qingdao Municipal Government decided to invest and construct a new Qingdao Museum in the rapidly rising eastern district. The new museum covers an area of 105 mu, with a building area of 20,000 m2.

Opening hours: May to October: 9: 00 ~ 17: 00 (admission stopped at 16: 00); November to April of the following year: 9: 00 ~ 16: 30 (admission stopped at 15: 30). Closed every Monday (except legal holidays)
