Situated 4km away from Wanggezhuang Subdisrtcit Office, Qujiazhuang Community is alongside the famous "Yangkou Bay" in Laoshan Scenic Area and in the east of Taiping Palace. Its ideal location guarantees charming scenery.
Qujiazhuang Community consists of 13 natural villages of Lizigou, Changwan, Xinjialing, Yangkou, Quanling, Shang'anzi, Zhujiagou, Xiaqiao, Zuolingzi, Xinshequ, Xiawu, Qujiazhuang and Tuzidong. The community was once named "Shigadahou Village", meaning "behind the place with many stones", a description of its real location. In 1935 the then Mayor of Qingdao Shen Honglie renamed it as Qujiazhuang as he thought the original name was a bit vulgar and didn’t cohere with the beautiful scenery of Yangkou.
The pillars of local economy used to be fishing and agriculture. With the development of tourism, landscape tree and Laoshan tea growing and mudflat aquaculture are also booming here, endowing the village with a strong economy. Qujiazhuang Community has won various titles such as "Socialist Cultural Model Village" of Qingdao, Safe Village of Qingdao, Clean Village of Laoshan District and Environmental Construction Model Village.
