Tangjiazhuang Community

Tangjiazhuang Community is 4km northwest of Wanggezhuang Subdisrtict Office of Laoshan District in Qingdao. It neighbors Hejia Community in the east, Changjia Community in the south, Miaoshi Community in the west and Hulingding in the north.  

Tang Dequan, the ancestor of the Tang family in the community was from Qu'erwo Community of Dongnan Township, Shouzhou County, Fengyang Prefecture, Anhui Province. In Yongle Period of the Ming Dynasty (1403-1424), he joined the army and became a director in Luanyang, Baoding Prefecture, Zhili (now Hebei Province). Later he was transferred to Aoshanwei of Laizhou Prefecture in Shandong Province where he served as a hereditary commander. One branch of his descendants went to Gaojia Village in 1681; later some moved from Gaojia Village to Ningzhenguan to build a new village. In 1935 the village was renamed after the family. This village belongs to Liugou natural village. Liu Jiliang, the ancestor of the Liu family, came here from Yuanshang Village of Jimo County in Tongzhi Period of the Qing Dynasty (1862-1875). The village was named "Gouliu" (meaning willows in the trenches) firstly since there were many willows around the village and inside the trenches and later renamed after the Liu Family as "Liugou" .

The village boasts a non-commercial forest of 513,000 km2 of black pines and apple, apricot, peach, cherry and hawthorn trees. After reform and opening up, residents here built reservoirs and wells to improve local infrastructure and spared no efforts to develop tea plantation, rural companies and tourism, which quickly elevated life quality of residents. The advancement of tourism drives the booming of related industries such as dining, accommodation, transportation, touring, shopping and entertainment, making the community a new destination for sightseeing favored by visitors. The development of local rural tourism wins the village the title of "Model of Beautiful Villages of Shandong Province".
